Cassette Player Log Drum (Decent Sampler VST)

This is my log drum. I’ve previously made a video on this particular one over a year ago now. This one I found at one of the many local antique malls in my area. at a newly opened stall that is full of fun musical instruments for really affordable prices. I do not know the culture in which this one originates from, or even its age. I don’t think it’s particularly old, and it was probably made recently. It seems to be loosely based off of some log drum designs of native peoples of the Americas or perhaps some Nordic influence.

The log drum VST came out really cool sounding. This is the first percussive instrument I have made in this series. It sounds so warm and lush and the low end sounds fantastic. Playing bass on this is really enjoyable and super satisfying. The slight texture of the built- in amp of the device is a nice touch. I think this would work great in any lofi musicians toolkit.
