Cassette Player Strings (Decent Sampler VST)
I love a good string section. There is something magical about when the sounds come in and play large lush chords. It’s almost like a wave crashing down on you at the beach. In fact, I often approach my strings like the ambience of a beach. Large sounds that sway in and out and sent the perfect mood for the piece as a whole. So while considering what I should do next in my Cassette Player series with the desire I have to go to the beach in the back of my mind, why not make a string section.
Now I have already done a violin library and a cassette violin library, which I honestly think came out great. I have not done a full string section. Partially because I don’t have a Cello, Contrabass, or Viola. But I do have this Yamaha YPT-200 I got for $20 at a garage sale. Since these are all samples, I don’t think I should just record and digitize it like I did with my older keyboard models, but I think it should be fine to run them through effects or a cassette player. So for my first experiment with this instrument, I recorded these string sounds onto a previously used cassette tape and let the vintage gear work it’s lofi magic.
As always, I hope you all enjoy and if you make anything interesting with this or just want to message me about this vst, feel free to reach out.
