Foundation Strings (Free Decent Sampler VST)

Recently I watched Foundation on Apple TV with my parents. I read the book in college but I honestly don’t remember much of it, Probably because I was so swamped at the time and it got lost in the many other books I speed read. The show however was a lot of fun to watch. The set pieces were fantastic and the overall atmosphere was super engaging. For this weeks VST I decided to make a sort of part two to my Dune Strings VST and make another Scifi inspired String library, this week inspired by Foundation.

This is the same old school keyboard I used for the last Scifi Library. While I love the ethnic section, I actually think the violin sounds great when sent through the microcosm. The strings splinter and shatter into thousand of pieces, cascading into a well of reverb the diffuse it into these lush distant pads and drones. The sound flows through space like glimmers of light from the stars themselves. Its a sound the inspires awe and exploration, yet still isolating and cold.
